The Badminton World Federation (BWF) confirmed on Wednesday, August 24 2022, that the 2022 Lagos International Classics has been postponed.
The Badminton Federation of Nigeria and Badminton Africa have informed BWF that the Lagos State Government Authorities still had not granted approval for the international tournament and the host had to postpone the 2022 Lagos International Classics.
The 2022 Lagos International Classics is an International Challenge event set to be held in late August and early September this year. It is currently the premier badminton tournament in Nigeria.
On the other side, BWF also informed that two events in Pakistan (Pakistan International Series – Lahore – 25 – 30 October 2022 and Pakistan International Challenge 2022 – Lahore – 1 – 6 November 2022) have been cancelled.
