The 2024 Hylo Open is set to take place from October 29 to November 3 at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany. This tournament is part of the BWF World Tour Super 300 series and is highly anticipated by players and fans alike. It will feature men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles categories.
The Hylo Open, originally known by several names like the BMW Badminton Cup and Bitburger Open, has a rich history dating back to the late 1980s. It gained significant prominence in 2021 when it was upgraded to a BWF World Tour Super 500 event but was later reclassified as a Super 300 event in 2022, a status it retains today.
For the 2024 edition, the prize pool has been confirmed at $210,000, aligning with the competitive incentives offered at Super 300 tournaments.
Chou Tien-chen, Beiwen Zhang, Liu Yuchen and Ou Xuanyi, Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu, and Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet are the defending champions from the previous edition. All except Chou Tien-chen chose not to participate in this year’s edition.
