The 2026 Malaysia Open (also known as the Petronas Malaysia Open 2026 for sponsorship reasons) is a major badminton tournament that will take place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from January 6 to January 11, 2026, comprising singles, doubles, and mixed doubles play. It is the sixty-ninth edition of the Malaysia Open that has been held since 1937 and is part of the 2025 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour as a Super 1000 event. The total prize money for this tournament is US$1,450,000.
The 2026 Malaysia Open is the first Super 1000 event of 2026 as well as the opener of the 2026 BWF World Tour calendar. Shi Yuqi and An Se-young are the defending champions in the men’s singles and women’s singles, respectively.
