Which Arctic Open Ticket Should You Buy?

There are four main ticket options.

A Day Ticket gives access to all matches played on the selected day. This is the simplest option if you only want to attend one round.

A Week Ticket covers the whole event from Tuesday through Sunday. At €154.60 for adults, it is the best fit for fans who want to follow the tournament from qualifying all the way to the finals.

The Weekend Ticket is valid from Friday, October 9 through Sunday, October 11, covering the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. The adult price is €104.60.

Finally, VIP Tickets are available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as a full Friday-to-Sunday VIP weekend package.

Arctic Open VIP Ticket Prices

VIP TicketPrice
Friday€114.60
Saturday€144.60
Sunday€134.60
Friday–Sunday VIP€324.60

The VIP package is not simply a premium seat. It also gives ticket holders access to the tournament’s VIP lounge and hospitality programme.

What Is Included With a VIP Ticket?

VIP ticket holders receive access to the VIP lounge plus food and drinks.

On Friday, October 9, the package includes a buffet lunch from 11:00–13:00 and buffet dinner from 17:00–20:00.

On Saturday, October 10, buffet lunch is available from 11:00–14:00, followed by dinner from 17:00–20:00.

Sunday’s finals package includes a sparkling wine brunch from 11:00–18:00.

VIP guests also receive three drink coupons per day, which can be used for beer, wine or sparkling wine.

Ticket Discounts

The tournament offers several discounts.

Students and seniors receive 15% off all ticket types. Anyone using this discount should bring a valid student or senior card and be prepared to show it when entering the arena.

Members of badminton clubs can also receive a €5 discount by entering the code:

SEURAT5

when purchasing eligible tickets.

One important detail is that these offers and ticket availability can change as the tournament approaches, so it is worth checking the ticketing page before buying.

Are Seats Reserved?

No. According to the official Lippu.fi event information, seating inside Vantaan Energia Areena for the Arctic Open is unnumbered.

That makes arrival time important, particularly during the later rounds.

If you want a better choice of seats for the semifinals or finals, arriving well before the first match is advisable rather than reaching the arena just as play begins.

Arctic Open 2026 Schedule for Spectators

The tournament progresses from qualifying to the championship matches over six days.

The organizer says the usual Arctic Open timetable is approximately:

DateRoundTypical Start
Tue, Oct. 6Qualifying + opening R32 matches8:00
Wed, Oct. 7Round of 329:00
Thu, Oct. 8Round of 1610:00
Fri, Oct. 9Quarterfinals13:00
Sat, Oct. 10Semifinals – Session 111:00
Semifinals – Session 217:00
Sun, Oct. 11Finals11:00

The organizers describe these as the tournament’s typical competition times, noting that small adjustments can be made from year to year. Tuesday normally runs until around 22:00, as do Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s play is expected to finish around 21:00, while Sunday’s finals should conclude at around 18:00.

For that reason, spectators should check the latest order of play before travelling to the arena if they are attending specifically to watch one player or pair.

When Do the Doors Open?

The organizer says doors normally open 30 minutes before play begins.

The exception is the final day on Sunday, when doors are scheduled to open one hour before the first match.

Because the seats are not numbered, arriving earlier can still be worthwhile on busy days.

How to Get to Vantaan Energia Areena by Train

Public transport is one of the easiest ways to reach the Arctic Open.

The closest railway station is Myyrmäki, which is served by Helsinki’s Ring Rail Line. The tournament website says the arena is around one kilometre on foot from Myyrmäki station.

Allow roughly 15 minutes for the walk, particularly if you are unfamiliar with the area.

From Helsinki City Centre

From central Helsinki, the P train travels towards Myyrmäki before continuing around the Ring Rail Line toward Helsinki Airport.

Get off at Myyrmäki, then walk to Vantaan Energia Areena.

The HSL Journey Planner is worth checking before departure for the exact train, platform and ticket zones required on the day.

From Helsinki Airport

The airport is also connected to Myyrmäki by the Ring Rail Line.

The I train route runs from Helsinki through Tikkurila and Helsinki Airport before continuing via Myyrmäki, making rail a convenient option for international visitors arriving at Helsinki Airport.

There were major Ring Rail Line works during summer and early autumn 2026, but HSL states that normal service across the line is scheduled to resume from October 5, one day before the Arctic Open begins. Visitors should still check live HSL updates before travelling.

Getting to the Arctic Open by Bus

Several bus routes also serve the Myyrmäki area near the arena.

The tournament lists the following services as useful options:

30, 411, 560, 565 and 571.

The best bus will depend on where you are staying, so using the HSL app or Journey Planner is the easiest way to compare train and bus options.

Can You Drive to the Arctic Open?

Yes.

For spectators arriving by car, the tournament says there is a large free parking area directly in front of Vantaan Energia Areena.

The venue address to enter into navigation is:

Rajatorpantie 23, 01600 Vantaa.

Parking may become busier for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, so arriving early remains sensible even when travelling by car.

Accessibility at Vantaan Energia Areena

Vantaan Energia Areena has several accessibility features.

Vantaa’s official service map lists two accessible parking spaces outside the arena. Inside, there is a wheelchair-accessible lift, an accessible toilet on the second floor and more than 20 wheelchair positions in the back row of the spectator stand, with views toward the event area.

The published accessibility information also notes that the route toward the main entrance includes a steep section and stairs, so spectators with specific mobility requirements may want to check the arena’s accessibility information before travelling.

Practical Tips for Watching the Arctic Open Live

A little preparation can make a long badminton day much easier.

  • Take advantage of free Tuesday entry. It is the cheapest way possible to experience the tournament and can be particularly good for fans interested in qualifiers and early-round matches.
  • Arrive early on Saturday and Sunday. Unnumbered seating means arriving earlier gives you more choice.
  • Check the order of play before leaving. Match times can move depending on the length of earlier matches.
  • Use public transport if possible. Myyrmäki station is within walking distance and avoids worrying about parking during the busiest sessions.
  • Keep your ticket ready on your phone. Lippu.fi supports electronic ticket options including PDF tickets and LIPPU.Pass.
  • Bring proof of eligibility for discounted tickets. Student and senior ticket holders may be asked for identification or their discount card.
  • Plan for a long day. Early rounds can run from morning until around 22:00, so spectators hoping to watch several disciplines should expect to spend many hours inside the arena.
  • Check the weather before travelling. The walk from Myyrmäki station is around one kilometre, so suitable clothing is useful if conditions are cold or wet.

Which Day Is Best to Attend?

The answer depends on what you want from the tournament.

Tuesday offers the best value because admission is free and there is a large amount of badminton to watch.

Wednesday and Thursday are also inexpensive and offer the widest choice of players and matches. Adult day tickets cost only €22.60 on both days.

Friday is a strong choice if you want higher-quality matches without paying Saturday prices. Every match is a quarterfinal, so the field has already been reduced to the leading contenders.

Saturday provides ten semifinals across two sessions and is likely to be one of the most attractive days for fans who want to see many top players in important matches.

Sunday is the day for the trophies. Five finals determine the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles champions.

For fans travelling to Finland mainly for the Arctic Open, the Friday-to-Sunday Weekend Ticket is arguably the most convenient choice because it covers every match from the quarterfinals through the finals. The official ticket is valid from October 9–11 and costs €104.60 for adults.
