BWF Announces Testing of 3 x 15 Scoring System at Select Tournaments in 2025

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released an update on the upcoming testing phase for the proposed 3 x 15 scoring system, set to be trialed at selected Grade 3 and national tournaments between April and October 2025.

Testing at Grade 3 Tournaments

As part of the initiative, several Continental Confederations and Member Associations will implement the new scoring format in upcoming events. The following tournaments have been confirmed for testing:

  • V Mexican International Challenge 2025 (7–11 May)
  • Venezuela Future Series 2025 (10–14 June)
  • Czech International Future Series 2025 (19–22 June)
  • Dove Saipan International 2025 (12–16 August)
  • Petronas Malaysia International Challenge 2025 (12–17 August)
  • Peru International Series 2025 (17–21 September)
  • Kampala International 2025 (25–28 September)
  • Roketto Sydney International 2025 (8–12 October)
  • Li-Ning Vietnam International Series 2025 (21–26 October)
  • China International Challenge 2025 (28 October – 2 November)

The BWF has assured Member Associations that any changes to this schedule will be communicated promptly.

In addition to international events, select **national tournaments** will also trial the 3 x 15 system, with details to be shared directly by participating Member Associations.
