Chen Long withdraws from the upcoming BWF World Championship in Tokyo

by BWT Admin

Chen Long has reportedly withdrawn from the upcoming BWF World Championships, which will take place in Tokyo, Japan, from August 22 to 28.

Not only withdrawing from the Championships, the former Olympic and world champion is also said to have sent a letter of resignation from the Chinese national team.

The 33-year-old athlete once said he had no intention of retiring after winning a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo to aim for his first and last gold at the upcoming Asian Games.

However, the one-year postponement of the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, which was supposed to take place in September this year, underlies Chen Long’s decision to retire from international badminton.
