The international badminton circuit returns to the heart of Europe as the Yonex Swiss Open 2026 prepares to take center stage. As a vital part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 series, this prestigious tournament continues its long-standing tradition of bringing world-class athleticism to Switzerland. Tournament Dates and Venue

The action is set to unfold from 10 to 15 March 2026. For another year, the historic St. Jakobshalle in Basel will serve as the battleground for the world’s best shuttlers. Known for its exceptional facilities and vibrant atmosphere, the venue will feature a green court mat color for the competition area. Fans can expect doors to open as early as 08:30 on the opening day to catch the first serves of the tournament.


Prize Money Distribution

A total prize fund of USD $250,000 will be at stake in Basel. The distribution follows BWF statutes, though it is important to note that a 20% withholding tax applies to all winnings.

Tournament Schedule

The tournament follows a progressive knockout format across six days of intense play:

  • Tuesday, 10 March: The tournament kicks off with Qualification rounds for all disciplines starting at 09:30. The Round of 32 for Men’s and Women’s Doubles will begin later that afternoon at 16:00.
  • Wednesday, 11 March: The Round of 32 continues for all events. Notably, any finalists from the preceding All England Open 2026 will have their first-round matches scheduled for this day to allow for travel and recovery.
  • Thursday, 12 March: The “Sweet 16” round (Round of 16) takes place across four courts.
  • Friday, 13 March: Quarterfinal action begins, with the schedule split into two sessions starting at 12:00 and 18:00.
  • Saturday, 14 March: The pressure peaks during the Semifinals. Matches will be held at 12:00 and 17:00.
  • Sunday, 15 March: The grand Finals will take place on a single show court starting at 11:00, followed immediately by the presentation ceremonies.


TV Broadcast and Media

For fans unable to make it to Basel, the tournament will be broadcast internationally during the final weekend:

  • Saturday, 14 March: International coverage begins at 12:00 (5 matches) and continues at 17:00 (3 matches).
  • Sunday, 15 March: All 5 final matches will be broadcast starting at 11:00.

The tournament maintains strict media guidelines, including a prohibition on photography within the competition venue by spectators. However, the organizers may provide digital match recordings for training and coaching purposes to participating members.
