The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced that the Hylo Open in Germany will be upgraded to Super 500 status on the BWF World Tour for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. This significant elevation highlights the tournament’s growing prestige and ensures a world-class badminton event in Europe.
The decision follows the recent reclassification of the Canada Open as a Super 300 tournament for the remainder of its hosting cycle. The BWF identified the Hylo Open as the ideal replacement to maintain a high-level competition in the Super 500 category.
A long-standing fixture on the badminton calendar, the Hylo Open has been held annually since 1988, attracting top international players. The upgrade to Super 500 status will further enhance its profile, offering higher ranking points and prize money while drawing even stronger competition.
The 2025 Hylo Open is scheduled to take place in Saarbrücken from 28 October to 2 November. Badminton fans worldwide can look forward to an even more thrilling showcase of elite talent in Germany.
