About the Thailand Masters

The Thailand Masters is an esteemed international badminton tournament that was inaugurated in 2016. This prestigious event was established as a tribute to Princess Sirivannavari, a former badminton player herself, showcasing her deep-rooted passion for the sport.

Initially, the Thailand Masters was classified under the Grand Prix Gold level. However, with the evolution of the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) tournament structure, it has been elevated to the BWF World Tour Super 300 level, signifying a significant increase in its stature and prize money.

The inaugural tournament took place in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2016, offering a total prize purse of US$120,000. In subsequent years, the prize money witnessed a gradual increase, reaching US$150,000 by 2018. For the 2025 edition, the tournament boasts an even more substantial prize fund of US$240,000, further incentivizing top-tier badminton players to compete.

Venues and Host Cities:

  • 2016-2018 & 2023-Present: Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok
  • 2019-2020: Indoor Stadium Huamark, Bangkok

The Thailand Masters has consistently been held in Bangkok, capitalizing on the city’s vibrant badminton culture. While the tournament briefly shifted its venue to the Indoor Stadium Huamark between 2019 and 2020, it has since returned to the iconic Nimibutr Stadium, where it continues to attract a passionate and enthusiastic audience.
