KUALA LUMPUR — With exactly one month to go, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) has officially launched the countdown for World Badminton Day 2026, scheduled for July 5. Under this year’s vibrant theme, “Raise a Racket,” the global governing body is calling on the international badminton community to celebrate the sport and promote active, healthy lifestyles.

The BWF is inviting a wide range of global participants—including Member Associations, Continental Confederations, schools, universities, clubs, Para sport organizations, Special Olympics programs, NGOs, cities, and fans—to host unique local activities. The initiative aims to showcase badminton’s unique power to unite diverse communities.

First established in 2022, World Badminton Day marks a historic milestone: the founding of the International Badminton Federation (now the BWF) on July 5, 1934. The annual celebration recognizes this legacy by bringing people together through fun, inclusive, and innovative badminton events worldwide.
