The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has announced a revised schedule for the prestigious HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025. Originally slated for Week 50 of the calendar (December 10-14), the tournament will now take place a week later, from December 17 to 21, 2025.
The BWF cited necessary venue rescheduling by the Local Organising Committee in Hangzhou as the reason for the date change. Despite this adjustment, the qualification timeline for the coveted year-end championships remains unchanged.
The Sathio Group Australian Open 2025 (November 18-23) will continue to be the final opportunity for players to accumulate crucial HSBC Race to Finals ranking points. Following the conclusion of the Australian Open, the invitees to the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025 will be officially confirmed on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
The qualification system dictates that a player or pair’s best 14 results from BWF World Tour tournaments within the qualifying period will contribute to their HSBC Race to Finals ranking. Only the top eight players or pairs in each discipline will earn a coveted spot in the season-ending Finals.
Looking ahead, the BWF also announced the commencement and conclusion dates for the HSBC Race to Finals ranking period for the 2026 season. This qualification period will kick off with the Syed Modi India International 2025 (November 25-30) and will culminate with the Hong Kong Open 2026 (November 17-22).
Badminton enthusiasts and aspiring finalists can now mark their calendars with the updated dates for the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2025, as the race for Hangzhou intensifies.
