2025 Malaysia Masters Finals Results

China returned home with four titles, while the remaining one was won by the host nation.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The Malaysia Masters 2025 concluded today with a thrilling day of finals, seeing China dominate the podium while Malaysia’s home favorites delighted the local crowd.

In the Men’s Singles final, Li Shifeng of China, seeded second, secured his first title of 2025 with a commanding performance against India’s qualifier Srikanth Kidambi. Li prevailed 21-11, 21-9, marking a significant return to form for Kidambi, who was playing in his first final in four years.

The Women’s Singles saw an all-Chinese affair, with top seed Wang Zhiyi emerging victorious over second seed Han Yue in a hard-fought battle. Wang claimed the championship 13-21, 21-13, 21-18. This marks Wang Zhiyi’s inaugural championship title after two previous runner-up finishes at the Malaysia Open (Super 1000) and All England Open (Super 1000), where she was defeated by Korea’s An Se-young. For Han Yue, the Malaysia Masters 2025 final was her first of the year.

The home crowd erupted as Malaysian duo Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, seeded fifth, clinched the Men’s Doubles title by defeating their compatriots Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, the fourth seeds, with a score of 21-12, 15-21, 21-16. This is the second title of 2025 for Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, who also triumphed at the Indonesia Masters 2025, another Super 500 event, in January. For Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, this marks their third final of the year, having previously won the Asian Championships in April and the Thailand Open Super 500 just last week.

China continued their dominance in the Women’s Doubles, with top seeds Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning securing their first championship of 2025 by overcoming their fellow Chinese pair Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian, seeded seventh, 21-17, 21-18. For Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian, this was their third final of the year; they previously won the Swiss Open Super 300 in March 2025, where they notably defeated Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning.

Finally, in the Mixed Doubles, Chinese second seeds Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping emerged victorious against top seeds Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin in a tightly contested match, winning 21-17, 14-21, 21-16. This is the second title for Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping in 2025, following their win at the Thailand Open last week. For Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin, it was their second final appearance of the year.
