Denmark at the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup
Denmark served as the host nation for the 2026 Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, held from April 24 to May 3, 2026, at the Forum Horsens in Horsens. This was a historic occasion for Badminton Danmark, as the country welcomed the world’s elite team championships back to Danish soil for the first time since the 2020 edition in Aarhus.
As hosts, the Danish men’s team (Thomas Cup) faced a challenging path in the “Group of Death,” while the women’s team (Uber Cup) looked to leverage home-court advantage to upset the traditional Asian powerhouses in Group A.

Campaign Analysis
Host Nation Pressure
Playing in Horsens, the Danish team enjoyed the thunderous support of the “Roligan” fans. For the Thomas Cup team, this tournament was viewed as a “last dance” for the iconic doubles pair Astrup and Rasmussen, who aimed to replicate the magic of Denmark’s 2016 title win. The inclusion of Anders Antonsen as the lead singles player provided Denmark with a point of security in almost every tie.
The Uber Cup Challenge
The Uber Cup team faced a steep uphill battle. Being drawn with China and India meant that the Danish women had to secure a win against one of the top two seeds to progress to the knockout stages. The tactical focus remained on Mia Blichfeldt (WS1) and the doubles expertise of Alexandra Bøje, who looked to exploit any inconsistencies in the higher-ranked opponents.
