FULLERTON, California – USA Badminton has officially announced that the 2026 Yonex U.S. Open Badminton Championships will return to the Los Angeles area this summer. The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 23–28, 2026, bringing elite international competition back to one of the sport’s most passionate fan bases in the United States.

As a BWF World Tour Super 300 event, the U.S. Open stands as a vital stop on the global circuit, which comprises 29 prestigious tournaments worldwide. The event is expected to draw top-tier talent from across the globe as athletes vie for crucial world ranking points and a share of the professional prize purse.

A Proven Championship Venue

For the 2026 edition, the action returns to Titan Gym on the campus of California State University, Fullerton. The venue is no stranger to high-stakes badminton, having successfully hosted the 2018 and 2019 editions of the championships.

Originally opened in 1965 and later renovated to include theatre-style seating, Titan Gym offers an intimate yet electric atmosphere with a capacity of 4,000. Its storied history includes hosting team handball during the 1984 Olympic Games, and it currently serves as the home for the Cal State Fullerton Titans’ basketball and volleyball programs.

Venue Details:

  • Location: 800 North State College Boulevard, Fullerton, CA.
  • Capacity: 4,000 seats (featuring retractable bleachers and theatre-style seating).
  • Setting: Part of the expansive Titan Sports Complex in the heart of Southern California.

Strategic Importance

The return to Southern California is a strategic move for USA Badminton. The region’s proximity to major international airports, a wide array of hotels, and world-famous attractions makes it an ideal hub for visiting delegations and traveling fans.

“We are proud to bring the Yonex U.S. Open back to the Los Angeles area,” USA Badminton stated in their release. “Titan Gym offers an exceptional setting for both athletes and fans, ensuring a world-class experience in the heart of SoCal.”

The tournament promises an intensive week of speed, precision, and endurance, showcasing why badminton remains one of the fastest-growing racket sports in the Western Hemisphere.
