Qingdao, China – Indonesia has stormed its way to the final of the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships, marking a historic milestone for the nation. This is the first time Indonesia has reached the final since the tournament’s inception in 2017.

In a thrilling semifinal clash held at the Conson Gymnasium on February 15th, Indonesia triumphed over Thailand with a convincing 3-1 victory. The breakdown of the matches is as follows:

  • Mixed Doubles: Despite a valiant effort, the duo of Dejan Ferdinansyah / Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti fell to the Thai pair of Supak Jomkoh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (13-21, 20-22).
  • Men’s Singles: Alwi Farhan continued his impressive run in the tournament, securing a decisive win against Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul (21-13, 21-18).
  • Women’s Singles: Putri Kusuma Wardani showcased her resilience and determination, edging out Busanan Ongbamrungphan in a fairly easy match (21-10, 21-8).
  • Men’s Doubles: Muhammad Shohibul Fikri / Daniel Marthin displayed exceptional teamwork and skill, overcoming the formidable Thai pair of Peeratchai Sukphun/Pakkapon Teeraratsakul in a two-game battle (21-13, 21-16).
  • Women’s Doubles: The match between Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard was not played, as Indonesia had already secured the winning 3 points.

Awaiting the Final Challenge

Indonesia now eagerly awaits the winner of the other semi-final match between powerhouse nations China and Japan, which will take place later today at 17:00 local time.
